Day 3-Roma then homa!!!

Hellisha!! he he thas Italian for hellish have decided!!!
So went to the vatican this morn-was ace! Long queues..got to go on the metro again, i like playing with the BIT machines! he he
Wow wow wow, amazing, what a place. HUGE! The sistene chapel was just gorgeous, shame you cant take pics! argh...it was packed aswell!! Great to see it, can deffo recommend.
Then I took the metro to Spagna and saw the Spanish steps which were cool and had a gelato. Cool fountain there too. This is the area with Gucci, Prada etc, didnt go in and kept credit card firmly in money belt!
Gosh what a morn, so am back in the hostel now and gonna chill here and then get the bus to the airport...maybe have a beer! Yay!!
Its been really cool, a short trip but have seen exactly what I want to see and MOnte Cassino was just superb yesterday, Ill never forget that and hope that one day I go back there and indeed see more of Italy. Wicked place, very chilled, atmospheric and cool. When I left Cassino yesterday, I could see the Abbey up on the mtn and said to myself "I hope I see u again"....
So homeward bound..back to reality............. again! Life rox!

To Roma and beyond........

he he thanks for the post Mandz, you crazzee one....
well, wow, what a day..hellishly hungover and stumbling around then going on the italian train to Cassino which was bloody ace!! Took almost 2 hours and arrived just before 3 so had to get a joe baxi up the mount..well I couldnt believe the size of it..HUGE! Saw the big Polish cemetary and it was just simply awesome...the walk to it is down a little path wih trees either side. There was some kinda Polish pilgrimage there and they were singing and it was just wonderous to hear them singing and to lok around..so peaceful...
Then after seeing our deceased Polish bruvvers we went on up to the Abbey-well yet again-how stunning??? GORGEOUS! Wow...beautful weather and you can look down on the Polish graves with the big cross. I stood looking at it for ages and listened to some sigur ros and cried (for the 2nd time)-not full on tears btw!
So then we made our way back down the mtn and Antonio insisted on taking me to the British cemetary in the town. Again, stunning, with the mtn and Abbey up in the skyline. Was mad looking at the dates of death as the ones up in the mtn..the Poles were May 1944 and the ones on the ground were 1943 or earlier in 1944. Mad to see that! Saw some Ghurka graves and soem indian ones, Canadian, british etc etc. there was one where the guy was 19..that set me off again along with some RBL wreaths..notes saying that it was a pilgramage! Anyway, Antonio was teling me that he was 10 when all that was giong on and he remembers the soldiers. He was a very nice chap, very sweet, opened and closed the car door for me every time.
cute!
So got the train back after a cuppa at a lil cafe in Cassino, looking up at the mtn and the Abbey and smiling. I was making some rollies whilst I had the time and sme Italian bloke came along and was pointing and saying somehing in Italian to me....Train was delayed..hassle...got back and Jason was waiting for me so we can go out..hellish!
So the vatican tomorrow morn and then home. What a great trip...oh and got kissed by angel last night...4real!!
Over and out for now.....
